Psychology Department Tree Planting Event

The tree planting event, jointly organized by the Malatya Turgut Özal University Psychology Club and the Psychological Counseling and Guidance Practice and Research Center (PDRM) on March 20, 2025, was held at the Yeşilyurt Campus with high participation from psychology students.

The Head of the Psychology Department, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Zeynep SAĞIR, opened her remarks by emphasizing the importance of participating in this event. She stated:
"The main purpose of this activity is to foster a sense of belonging among our students by contributing to the greening of our campus and our department. As the trees take root, we hope our students will also feel a stronger sense of attachment."

SAĞIR continued:
"Although our department is new, it continues to develop each day with contributions, especially from our esteemed Rector, Prof. Dr. Recep BENTLİ. Today, we also planted a tree in his name. We are very grateful for this opportunity."

The event continued with faculty members, PDRM staff, and students planting trees together, creating enjoyable moments for participants.

The enthusiasm of students to connect with nature even in cold weather made the event particularly meaningful.

The activity, themed “Kindness to Nature, Peace to the Soul”, concluded with the distribution of participation certificates to students by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Zeynep SAĞIR, Specialist Clinical Psychologist Menekşe BALOĞLU, and Research Assistant Hakan SARIYILDIZ.
