Transportation Expenses Support Program Within the Scope of Educational Assistance – 2025

The Transportation Expenses Support Program, carried out by the Ministry of Family and Social Services, provides financial assistance for students’ travel costs for 2025 as follows:

Purpose and Scope of the Program

This support program targets students who:

• Are Turkish citizens,

• Pursue formal education (primary, secondary, or higher education) in a province different from their family residence within Turkey, and

• Come from households identified by the Social Assistance and Solidarity Foundations under Law No. 3294 on the Promotion of Social Assistance and Solidarity.

The program aims to cover transportation costs for students traveling to visit their families and returning to school.

Support applies to up to four one-way trips per year, regardless of the type of transport used (road, air, sea, or rail).

Application and Evaluation Process

• Students must register their residence at the location of their dormitory or home.

• Students who transfer their residence to Malatya via Battalgazi or Yeşilyurt Municipality must submit their transportation support request to the District Governorship.

• Applications must be submitted within 15 days from the date of travel.

• Foundations may request the student’s ticket, ID, and student certificate.

• The Foundation Board of Trustees evaluates applications within 30 days.

New Limit and Payment Procedures

• As of January 1, 2025, the one-way ticket upper limit is 1,900 TL. This amount may be revised by the Ministry of Family and Social Services.

• If the ticket cost is below the limit, the full ticket price is reimbursed. If the cost equals or exceeds the limit, only the upper limit amount is paid.

• Payments are made to the student’s bank account if they are 18 years or older; if under 18, payment is made first to the mother’s account, or if unavailable, the father’s account.

• The payment amount will be increased in 2026.

Who Cannot Apply

• Non-Turkish citizens,

• Students studying with their families,

• Students studying outside Turkey,

• Master’s or PhD students, and

• Students over 25 years old

are not eligible for this support program.
